Berlusconi rejects calls for him to quit, eyes reform (Reuters)

ROME (Reuters) ? Italy's Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi on Sunday rejected opposition and lobby groups' calls for the government to resign over the country's economic woes and said the ruling center-right coalition was solid and would push on with reforms.

Pressure rose on Berlusconi this week after Standard and Poor's cut Italy's credit rating by one notch and warned of a deteriorating growth outlook, prompting widespread criticism of the government and daily calls for it to step down.

While Berlusconi's coalition has been plagued by infighting and policy disagreements, the prime minister himself is battling a widening prostitution scandal that has further dented his popularity and fueled opposition outrage.

"We can't be controlled by the expectations of the media and the opposition," Berlusconi said by telephone to a rally of his People of Freedom (PDL) party on Sunday.

"We will not resign unless there is a vote of no confidence in parliament, which we don't see happening."

He said the government would continue as a "solid and cohesive" majority and would carry out its reform plan, adding that it would examine structural measures to boost growth next week.

Under mounting pressure to cut its 1.9 trillion euro debt pile - 120 percent of gross domestic product - the government pushed a 59.8 billion euro austerity package through parliament this month, pledging to balance the budget by 2013.

But it is now being urged to adopt further reform to tackle the underlying problem of persistent stagnant growth in the euro zone's third largest economy and stave off a market crisis that threatens to send its debt sliding out of control.

Italy's borrowing costs are once again close to levels that prompted the European Central Bank to prop up Italian government bonds with purchases last month.

The head of Italy's main employers' federation Confindustria said earlier this week that serious and possibly unpopular reforms need to be adopted immediately or else the government should step down.

Business daily Il Sole 24 Ore, which is controlled by Confindustria, ran a front page editorial the following day calling on Berlusconi to quit in the interests of the country if he cannot handle the debt crisis.

EMERGENCY GOVERNMENT

Opposition parties kept up the pressure on Sunday, as the leader of the center left Democratic Party Pier Luigi Bersani suggested forming an emergency unity government.

"The hardest step in the post-war period lies ahead of us. The worries of Italians have become the worries of the world. We face difficult choices which will become even more difficult with every day that passes without a change," he said.

A poll in Sunday's Corriere della Sera showed that only one in five Italians are in favor of the government continuing in power, and even 20 percent of voters for Berlusconi's PDL party think it's better if the 74 year-old premier steps down.

Berlusconi narrowly avoided embarrassment on Thursday when parliament voted against allowing the arrest of a former aide to Economy Minister Giulio Tremonti on corruption charges.

But grumbling within the ruling majority over Tremonti's absence at the vote added to signs of government disarray.

Berlusconi is already caught up in a variety of legal and sexual scandals and this week Milan magistrates filed a request to charge him for leaking transcripts damaging to a political rival to Il Giornale, a newspaper owned by his brother, in connection with a 2005 takeover battle.

On Saturday, a judge in Perugia ruled that 18 people including a former associate of the prime minister should stand trial in another high profile corruption case, which could further dent the image of Italy's ruling group.

Transferring Domain names ? Cartoons and Media

author 11th September 2011

http://ekkotv.com/xtreme-paydays/xtreme-paydays-review

In the days of old of the internet, domain title registration ended up being handled through Network Options. However, after a while, the administration decided who?s wasn?t fair for around company to get sole control over the domain title market. Thus, it opened up the internet business to various other companies. Since that time hundreds of domain name companies, between sole proprietorships to help corporate businesses have capitalized over a market that generates enormous amounts in revenue every year. So, to get webmasters, this means there is no shortage involving companies out there when many people register their websites.

Yet, when there is if many people register using one domain name company, but make a decision later they really want it to become operated through another business? Fortunately, they are able to get their own wish with the process of domain name transferring. That?s where a affiliate marketer gets yet another registrar to handle their domain name. All bills are forwarded into the new registrar, because the old registrar is not anymore in that picture, (at least on the subject of the sector name). If your registrar is handling any webmaster?s web host, they still intent to make the needed payments to assure their site stays inside tact.

The true process a part of a domain name transfer depends on the registrar any webmaster is working with. For case in point, if many people charge any payment for domain name transfers, this fee has to be received previous to anything is the answer officially. Or else, the course of action begins the moment a affiliate marketer makes any request to perform so. Some domain name registrars need a affiliate marketer to send a notarized cover letter informing their own intent to help transfer. Others could allow that request to become done online. Once that registrar authorizes the domain name transfer, it?s going to take 1 to help 7 internet business days with the process to become completed.

http://www.crssymposium.com/xtreme-paydays/xtreme-paydays-review

Sometimes a domain name probably are not transferable. This may be for loads of reasons such as legal difficulty with the domain name itself or the original domain title registrar. An example of the former could be trademark accidental injuries. For that latter this sort of legal scenarios that will cause accidental injuries include chapter 7 and/or difficulty with scamming. Another possibility is a possibility a domain title registrar simply refuses to help transfer the domain name.

How can somebody prevent these types of problems? The most effective solution requires reading any terms and conditions the original domain name registrar gives. A person also need to check considering the Better Enterprise Bureau to assure the domain name registrar won?t have almost any outstanding authorized issues regarding it.

In conclusion, if somebody wants to help switch domain name companies, you will find the option to do a domain name transfer. If it?s successful, the domain name will work as it originally managed, with the one difference being who is managing that. However, in case a domain name can?t be transferred, a affiliate marketer must keep with the original registrar as well as consider any URL route service.

Which includes a URL route service, the original domain title becomes masked by just a new domain name. It is just not as well as an official domain name transfer, but it really is still superior to nothing when transferring is just not an alternative.

(AP) ? All three engines on a Russian jet that slammed into a riverbank were operating up until the moment of the crash and the plane's stabilizer and flaps were in a proper position for takeoff, Russian experts said Friday.

Still, the Moscow-based Interstate Aviation Committee, which is conducting the crash probe, had no conclusions yet about the cause of the crash that killed 43 people, mostly members of a top Russian ice hockey team.

The comments came as aviation experts examined flight data recorders from the crashed plane and began safety checks Friday on Yak-42 jets nationwide.

The chartered Yak-42 jet crashed Wednesday into the sides of the Volga River on a sunny, clear day moments after taking off near Yaroslavl, a city 150 miles (240 kilometers) northeast of Moscow.

It was one of the worst aviation disasters ever in sports, shocking Russia and the world of hockey, for among the dead were 36 players, coaches and staff of the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl hockey team. The team had been heading to Minsk, Belarus, to play its opening game of the Kontinental Hockey League season.

Two men survived the crash ? player Alexander Galimov and crew member Alexander Sizov ? but they were in critical condition Friday, both in medicated comas after being transferred to Moscow for treatment. Hospital officials said Galimov had burns over 90 percent of his body.

The Interstate Aviation Committee said magnetic tapes holding the flight information in the data recorders were wet, but its experts have begun deciphering those segments that have dried out, learning about the engines. The committee didn't specify, however, whether the engines were giving the full thrust.

The Tunoshna airport's runway is three times longer than required for that type of plane but the plane still failed to accelerate sufficiently before takeoff, Russian Deputy Transport Minister Valery Okulov said.

Authorities were also checking fuel supplies at the Tunoshna airport, suspecting that low quality fuel could have caused the crash. The airport has been allowed to resume operations but planes were barred from using local fuel.

Yaroslavl Gov. Sergei Vakhrukov, however, insisted that the fuel couldn't have been the cause, since another plane using the same fuel had flown without any problems.

The crashed jet was built in 1993 and one of its three engines was replaced a month ago, transportation officials said.

Aviation authorities also launched safety checks on all the approximately 60 Yak-42 jets currently in service in Russia, which was expected to lead to disruptions in service. An Associated Press reporter was among the passengers ordered to disembark Friday from a Yak-42 jet bound on an internal flight from Moscow.

Of the six Yak-42s checked so far, three have been grounded, Rostransnadzor transport safety watchdog said. It said their owners will have to fix unspecified flaws before resuming their flights.

In Yaroslavl, where there has been an outpouring of public grief over the deaths of the hockey players, a memorial service was to be held Saturday at the team's arena. Several squads from the Kontinental Hockey League were traveling to Yaroslavl to take part.

Thousands of fans have already come to the Yaroslavl arena to pay their respects, laying mounds of red roses and carnations outside its walls.

Bethann Salei, who met her late husband in Anaheim when he played for the Ducks and went on to raise their family in Orange County, California, issued a statement Friday through the NHL team.

"On behalf of the Salei family, I want to express my sincere thanks to the entire hockey community, including all of Ruslan's friends and fans, for the overwhelming love and support," she said. "While this is an extremely difficult time for us, the outpouring of affection our family has received has been comforting. As much as Ruslan enjoyed playing hockey, he loved the camaraderie he had with his teammates, the team staffs, and the fans that much more.

"Ruslan was the love of my life, and I'm extremely grateful to have our three beautiful children. He treasured his family life with us, and we miss him dearly."

President Dmitry Medvedev has called for sweeping reforms to Russia's aviation industry, including replacing aging Russian jets with Western planes.

Experts blame Russia's poor aviation safety record on an aging fleet, weak government controls, poor pilot training and a cost-cutting mentality.

Japan Q2 GDP revised down as expected, outlook dim (Reuters)

TOKYO (Reuters) ? Japan's economy shrank in the second quarter at a faster pace than initially reported as companies held back on capital expenditure due to worries about a rising yen and faltering global growth.

Economists say Japan is likely to resume growing in the third quarter after three consecutive quarters of contraction, boosted by a rapid recovery in supply chains following the March 11 earthquake, but the outlook further ahead looks increasingly in doubt.

Other data pointing to weak business investment and a dip in exports increasingly suggest Japan will not be able to rely much on external demand. This could pressure the government to speed up reconstruction spending and lean on the central bank to weaken the yen by easing policy further.

"As capital spending is unlikely to grow as strongly as previously thought, a rebound in GDP in July-September may be smaller than initially thought although gradual recovery is still expected," said Yuichi Kodama, economist at Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance in Tokyo.

"There are also increased chances of the yen's appreciation in the coming month due to the Federal Reserve's expected easing and the latest Swiss move. The BOJ may be prompted by market moves, rather than the economy's performance, to ease its policy."

HARSH CONDITIONS

Gross domestic product shrank a revised 0.5 percent in the second quarter, bang in line with the median market forecast and compared with the initially reported 0.3 percent contraction, Cabinet Office data showed on Friday.

On an annualized basis, the economy contracted 2.1 percent, against a 2.2 percent fall expected by economists.

Capital expenditure fell a revised 0.9 percent, compared with an initially reported 0.2 percent rise and a 1.9 percent fall expected by economists.

Private inventories contributed 0.1 percentage point to GDP, less than a 0.3 percentage point contribution in preliminary data as parts shortages eased for some firms, allowing companies to finish partially manufactured goods, a government official said.

In another encouraging sign, government consumption and investment made a slightly positive contribution to GDP due to spending and investment in tsunami-hit areas on temporary housing and other items, the official said.

"From July, supply chains have recovered and the government has judged that the economy is picking up," Economics Minister Motohisa Furukawa told reporters.

"But given worries about global economic risks and fluctuations in the foreign exchange and stock markets, the environment surrounding the Japanese economy is increasingly severe."

Separate data showed Japanese consumer confidence was steady in August after rising in the previous three months, suggesting the post-quake rebound in sentiment may have ground to a halt.

The revised GDP data follows a Ministry of Finance survey released last week that showed capital expenditure unexpectedly fell in the second quarter from a year earlier due to waning global demand.

While economists expect Japan to exit recession triggered by the March 11 earthquake and tsunami, some have started questioning whether overseas demand and reconstruction spending will carry the economy further.

The Bank of Japan could come under increased pressure to ease monetary policy in coming months as the yen remains stubbornly high against the dollar, threatening to harm exports.

Another update on ... - THE "NEW" PROSTATE CANCER INFOLINK

Exelexis has issued a media release stating that ?the pre-specified number of progression-free survival (PFS) events required for un-blinding of the data for the ongoing Phase III pivotal trial of cabozantinib in patients with medullary thyroid cancer (MTC), known as the EXAM trial, has been reached.?

If this information leads to a further announcement that the initial results of the EXAM trial are positive, and if the U.S. Food & Drug Administration approves cabozantinib for the treatment of patients with unresectable, locally advanced, or metastatic MTC on the basis of these data, this would also make cabozantinib available for the treatment of men with metastatic, castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) at some time relatively early in 2012. Whether one?s insurance provider would cover the costs of treatment of prostate cancer with cabozantinib is not quite so certain.

Exelexis notes in its media release that the company is still planning to initiate a randomized, double-blind, Phase III of cabozantinib in treatment of CRPC and/or mCRPC at some time later this year. Furthermore, a new Phase II clinical trial of cabozantinib in men with mCRPC to bone has been initiated at the University of Michigan and should start to enroll patients in October this year. This latter study is not a randomized clinical trial, and all patients in this study will receive cabozantinib.
